The Company
The Reykhólar smoke house was established in December 2009 by Oddur Vilmundarson and Aðalsteinn Finsen both of whom have years of experience working with marine products. Aðalsteinn is the founder and owner of Tor ehf a company which processes and exports fish products while Oddur has worked there intermittently since 1997.
In the spring of 2009 the idea to create the Reykhólar smokehouse started to form and both its founders agreed that there was an opening in the market for a quality product of this kind both domestically and internationally.
Quality
From the beginning our goal was for the processing to meet the highest standards when it came to freshness and quality of taste.
Guðjón Oddsson a leading expert in the development of smoked and marinated salmon with years of experience in the processing of salmon products was contacted and to our great advantage and pleasure he agreed to work with the company. Recently a new Ness smoking chamber was bought at Guðjón´s recommendation.
With these efforts we feel we have fulfilled our motto which is and will be Quality and good taste.
